About me + my approach

Therapy that feels grounding, collaborative + practical.

Many of my clients are thoughtful, driven, and capable — but feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, reassurance-seeking, burnout, or self-criticism that keep them from feeling grounded or confident.

BACKGROUND

About Dr. Rene

I grew up in Massachusetts and moved to Washington in 2022, where I now live on the Olympic Peninsula.

My own experience as a collegiate athlete navigating injuries, completing a doctoral program, and growing up in a family impacted by OCD and divorce has shaped how I understand pressure, uncertainty, and resilience.

Outside of work, I enjoy time with my partner, family, and friends, walking my dog Norman, exploring the Pacific Northwest, reading, and following sports (Go Celtics!).

My therapy approach

THE BASICS

Foundation.

Therapy works best when you feel understood, supported, and able to show up as you are.

My approach blends relational depth and insight with structure and skill development. We look not only at what’s happening, but the patterns maintaining it — and how to shift those patterns in sustainable ways.

Together, we slow things down, build clarity, and develop tools that support meaningful change.

HOW I WORK

What this looks like in practice.

A supportive, nonjudgmental foundation.
Space to feel heard and understood — building trust and self-awareness.

Understanding patterns at their roots.
Understanding patterns in relationships, past experiences, and recurring themes — so you can understand what’s happening and why.

Practical tools for change.
Concrete strategies to manage anxiety, shift thinking patterns, and strengthen emotional regulation.

Action and follow-through.
Structure, routines, and skills — for executive functioning challenges and avoidance patterns.

THE EXPERIENCE

What to expect.

I’m committed to creating a space where your experiences and identity are respected and affirmed.

We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable while still working toward meaningful change.

Therapy with me is both reflective and practical — we build insight and apply it. We talk, and we practice.

MY PERSPECTIVE

Identity note.

I identify as a white, heterosexual, able-bodied, cisgender female.

I share this to acknowledge the role my identity may play in the therapeutic relationship and to remain thoughtful, transparent, and accountable in our work together.
